History of DBMS (Database Management System)

Database System is a system that goal computerize and keep making that information available when required.

Database Management System (Database Management System DBMS ) is designed to assist in the maintenance and utility data collection in large numbers. DBMS can be the alternative specifically to the use of applications, such as saving data in the field and writing application code for a specific application settings.

History Review

First-generation DBMS designed by Charles Bachman in the company General Electric in the early 1960s, referred to as the Data Storage Integrated (Integrated Data Store). Formed the basis for the network data model then by standaritation Conference on Data System Languages (CODASYL).
Bachman receive ACM Turing Award (Nobel award such in computer science) in 1973. And at the end of 1960, IBM developed management information system (Information Management System) DBMS. Then in 1970, Edgar Codd, the Research Laboratory in San Jose, proposed the model data relasional. In 1980, became the model relasional DBMS paradigm the most dominant. SQL standaritation at the end of 1980, and SQL-92 adopted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and International Standards Organization (ISO).
